A program for managing multiple clipboards on the Macintosh computer.
Introduction
Have you ever wished there was more than one clipboard in your word processing program? Have you ever wanted to cut and paste three things at once, and hated switching back and forth between windows to grab each item individually?
Clipboard Master is your answer.
Using Clipboard Master
Clipboard Master will work with any program that uses the Clipboard!
Clipboard Master simulates the existence of multiple clipboards. When started, Clipboard Master displays a window containing up to 9 buttons, each representing a separate clipboard. Pushing one of the numbered buttons makes that clipboard available. Now you can cut and paste as usual on the selected clipboard without disturbing the contents of the others.
A small black square in the corner of a numbered button lets you know which clipboards contain material. To clear all the clipboards, select the Clear All Clipboards option on the Edit menu. Otherwise, Clipboard Master will remember the contents of the clipboards when you quit.

By popular demand, we have added the ability to view the contents of the various Clipboard Master clipboards. To view the contents of a clipboard, double click the desired clipboard button. You can also view a clipboard's contents by selecting the desired clipboard button and then choosing the Open Clipboard option from the file menu.
To clear an individual clipboard, select the desired clipboard button, then choose the Clear option from the Edit menu.
Installation
Simply copy Clipboard Master somewhere you can find it easily, or place it in the startup folder. (The startup folder is in your system folder).
Preferences
You can set several preferences on Clipboard Master:
Number of Clipboards
This is the number of clipboards created by Clipboard Master. By default there are 4 clipboards, but you can set this number to any value from 2 to 9.
Display Clipboards...
You can choose to orient the icons in the Clipboard Master window either horizontally or vertically. By default the orientation is horizontal.
Other Comments...
Clipboard Master, Version 2.0 has been tested, but not extensively. If you find any problems with it, please e-mail the bug report to woody@alumni.cco.caltech.edu. In particular, this program has not been extensively tested against System 6, though it should work with no problems.
Permission is hereby given to redistribute the entire package (application and this file) for non-commercial purposes, so long as the entire package is distributed together. That is, public redistribution of this utility can be done, so long as it is not included in a CD-ROM, floppy disk set, or other distribution mechanism that is then resold, even at cost.
